Here's Another 'Portal'...

You’ve probably seen it all over your feed: “The 10/10 Portal is opening - get ready for massive upgrades, downloads, and new timelines!”

Everyone suddenly seems to be cleansing their crystals, charging their water, and making vague posts about “quantum leaps.”

But here’s the question: why?

And maybe more importantly - since when?

Because let’s be honest - up until about five years ago, the so-called 10/10 portal wasn’t even on the spiritual calendar. No ancient tradition references it, no cosmic alignment anchors it. It’s a made-up trend that spiralled out of social media’s need to turn every date into an “energetic event.”

At some point, someone realised that double numbers look mystical. 1/1, 2/2, 3/3 - it’s tidy, symmetrical, and easy to turn into a hashtag.

And from there, we ended up with a year full of portals, gateways, and alignment activations - all conveniently timed for Instagram reels and last-minute “energy upgrade” offers.

Now, don’t get me wrong. Numerology is beautiful, symbolism is powerful, and collective intention does create energy.

But when we start acting like the cosmos has a Google Calendar synced to our smartphones, we might be missing the point.

The real magic isn’t in the date; it’s in your intention.

If you want to meditate, journal, or do energy work on 10/10, go for it. But do it because it feels aligned for you - not because an influencer told you that “a portal is opening and you’ll miss out if you don’t.”

Spiritual practice was never meant to be performative.

It’s not about keeping up with trends or ticking off celestial deadlines. It’s about deepening your awareness, connecting with your inner world, and building a living, breathing relationship with energy, nature, and spirit - not the algorithm.

Before you jump into the next online energy event, pause and ask yourself:

- Does this feel meaningful, or am I doing it because everyone else is?

- What would I actually like to connect with today?

- Is there something I need to ground, create, or rest from?

Your spiritual growth doesn’t hinge on matching numbers on a calendar. It happens in the quiet consistency of your daily practice - the real work you do when no one’s watching.

The point isn’t to roll your eyes at people celebrating 10/10. If they find genuine meaning in it, that’s great.

But the moment we stop thinking critically - stop questioning where these ideas come from or why we’re following them - we hand over our power.

You don’t need to wait for a date to shift your energy.

You can open your own portals through meditation, breath, study, service, creativity, or just showing up for yourself in an honest way.

10/10 isn’t “the” portal - it’s just a day. 

And like every day, it’s full of potential, reflection, and growth.

If you want to mark it, mark it with intention. If you don’t, the universe won’t revoke your spiritual membership.

So instead of rushing to “activate” anything, maybe just take a walk, make tea, breathe, and remember - you are the portal.
