Portals, Portals Everywhere…

Let’s be honest. We love a good sacred day at The Asgard Academy. The full moon, the solstices, the equinoxes, eclipses, cross-quarter fire festivals - these are the real thresholds. Ancient peoples across the world honoured them for a reason: they’re rooted in actual movements of the sun, moon, and stars. They’re the moments when the veils shift, when the energy turns, when the earth breathes differently.

But 9/9? That’s just… Tuesday.

And here’s the kicker (and I'm sorry to burst your bubble): all of this portal hype is based on the Gregorian calendar - a human-made system that’s been fiddled with, reformed, and is not aligned to much of anything except tax collection and church feasts. Why would the cosmos suddenly fling open a mystical doorway just because the digits happen to match up in our very flawed dating system?

It’s like expecting Odin himself to appear because your digital watch struck 11:11.

Of course, there’s always someone ready to sell you a workshop, a meditation, or an “activation” for these dates. The portals keep multiplying, and so do the price tags. Every repeating number is now a chance to part with your cash.

And look, if pausing on a date like 8/8 helps you to set an intention, that’s fine. Humans love patterns - it’s why we see faces in clouds. If it gives you a nudge to connect with spirit, wonderful. But let’s not pretend these are ancient or cosmic truths. They’re marketing gimmicks dressed up as gateways.

The real portals? They’re free, they’re constant, and they’re everywhere. The moment the moon slips into fullness. The instant the sun tips into solstice. The quiet hour at dawn when the sky softens. The sacred pause when you actually stop scrolling and listen.

That’s where the magic happens. Not because the numbers line up on a calendar app - but because you do.

For when the hashtags get out of hand:

- Breathe. Not every double digit is a cosmic emergency.

- Go outside. Nature has more portals than Instagram will ever tell you about.

- Check the sky. If the sun, moon, or stars are doing something interesting, that’s your cue.

- Ignore the hashtags. Your spiritual path doesn’t need a trending date.

- Save your money. The real portals don’t come with an activation fee.
