The runes are older than the page. Older than the altar cloth. Older than the hands that carve them. They are marks cut into wood and bone, but they are also principles that shape land, weather, oath, harvest, boundary, and fate. This course is not a study of history alone, nor a collection of aesthetic symbols. It is a year of disciplined spellcraft rooted in the Elder Futhark - twenty-four staves that hold distinct powers, temperaments, and consequences.

Each week, you will approach one rune as you would approach a shrine at the forest edge: deliberately, with steadiness. You will learn its nature, its strengths, and its dangers. You will carve it correctly. Place it with intention. Activate it without excess. Close your workings without carelessness. Some runes build. Some halt. Some expose. Some protect. Each has its proper place.

You will work. You will construct. You will dismantle. You will learn where your will aligns cleanly and where it strains. Over time, the runes will cease to feel like separate symbols and will begin to form a structure in your practice - a spine you can rely on. You are not here to collect symbols.

You are here to learn how to stand within them. By the end of the year, you will not simply “know” the runes. You will understand how to build with them, how to restrain them, and when to leave them untouched.

This is the work of the Runic Witch: patient, precise, and aware that power responds best to those who approach it without haste.
