The Celtic Tree Ogham / Celtic Tree Ogham Reader

The origins of the Celtic Tree Ogham, pronounced Oh-am, lie with the Celtic tribes who migrated to Britain around 700-500 BCE. Even though there is no evidence of any Ogham script found in Europe, there are around 320 inscribed standing stones surviving in Britain to this day. Most of these can be found in Southern Ireland and Wales.

The descriptions of each letter and its corresponding tree are packed full of poetical and magical references which hold vast clues to their deeper meanings. Historical texts are littered with suggestions as to what the Ogham was originally used for. In the Book of Ballymote, the text reveals how it was used as a secret sign language - using the shinbone as the main or central line - and the fingers crossing this then formed the various letters.

Over time, the descriptions, and interpretations of each of the symbols have changed and none can claim to be truly authentic to the Celtic tribes however, they are relevant to today along with anyone interested in spiritual and personal development, healing and energy work and of course the trees. The Ogham can be used for divination for either yourself or others, as a guide to working with the energies of the trees and as a map to the deeper realms of both the Celtic otherworld and the worlds within yourself.

This class is split into two parts and if both are completed, you will receive two certificates - a Certificate of Completion for The Celtic Tree Ogham class and then a Certified Diploma (Practitioner Level) for the Celtic Tree Ogham Reader part of the class, meaning that you will be able to obtain insurance to then offer Ogham readings for the general public. After enrolment in the class, you do not have to complete the Celtic Tree Ogham Reader if you choose not to.
